NJACP MEMBERSHIP PROCESS AND BENEFITS

MEMBERSHIP PROCESS

NJACP membership is based on a calendar year. The application procedure is an easy three step process.

Step 1: Complete the NJACP membership application and submit to NJACP office. If joining NJACP for the first time, submit the agency mission statement also.

Step 2: Submit payment to NJACP office along with application. The dues which is a sliding scale, is based on your DDD budget. Information about this can be found in the application.

Note: In accordance with the NJACP bylaws, agency mission statements will be reviewed by the NJACP Member Resources Committee if applicant is joining NJACP for the first time.

Step 3: Receipt of Membership Certificate. As soon as the application and payment are received and the mission statement review is completed, the agency is a member of NJACP. You will receive a membership packet which includes a membership certificate and will begin receiving NJACP member benefits.

NJACP Membership Eligibility

Members. All members of the corporation shall be obliged to pay membership dues to the corporation. The membership year, for dues purposes, shall be the calendar year. Annual dues shall be payable January 1st. Payment of dues shall be considered a prerequisite to being a member.

Class of Members. There shall be one class of members. Members shall be private agencies who are providing community-based services for persons with developmental and other disabilities. A member shall have the right to one vote as a member of the corporation on all matters, which are required by law, the certificate of incorporation, or these by-laws to be approved by the members. Representatives of members may be nominated and elected to a corporation office or to the Board. In addition, members shall have such other privileges as the Board may designate from time to time.

Agency Voting Membership. Agency Membership shall be limited to private agencies whose mission and practice is to provide community based programs to persons with developmental disabilities or other disabilities ascertained by the Member Resources Committee and confirmed by the Executive Committee. Agency members shall have the right to one vote regarding all matters pertaining to the business of the corporation. Agency representatives may be nominated and elected to a corporation office or to the Board. In addition, agency representatives shall have such other privileges as the Board may designate from time to time.

Affiliate Non-Voting Membership. Affiliate Membership is limited to organizations whose primary mission and practice is to provide support to individuals and/or agencies serving persons with developmental disabilities and/or other disabilities to further the field of developmental disabilities or other disabilities as ascertained by the Member Resources Committee and confirmed by the Executive Committee. Affiliate Membership may also include individuals who have a professional interest in furthering the field of disabilities as ascertained by the Member Resources Committee and confirmed by the Executive Committee. Affiliate Members do not have the right to vote regarding matters pertaining to the business of the corporation and Affiliate representatives may not be nominated or elected to a corporation office or to the Board.

Preferred Vendor Membership is limited to certain vendors that provide goods and services to Members as recommended by the Finance Committee and confirmed by the Board. Preferred Vendors do not have the right to vote regarding matters pertaining to the business of the corporation and Preferred Vendor representatives may not be nominated or elected to a corporation office or to the Board.
