Thursday, 24 June 2010

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services sent the attached letter alerting State Medicaid Directors that the Money Follows the Person (MFP) Rebalancing Demonstration Program has been extended for an additional five years to 2016.  The MFP program was extended under the recent health care reform legislation.  The expansion of MFP provides additional funding for states to remove barriers and improve people’s access to community supports and independent living arrangements.  The extension also provides increasing federal matching funds that can be used to help close institutions for people living with developmental disabilities.
